Excellent performance and photo quality; good video capture capabilities and quality
No built-in wireless controller; large spot meter; no built-in flash; more direct controls would be nice; AF system could use an update
A great follow-up to the 5D and top-flight full-frame camera, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II delivers the fluid shooting experience and fine photos you expect from a professional model.
The successor Canon delivers: the EOS 5D Mark II is in many ways a must-have...
Convergence has finally reached the high-altitude hamlets of Pro-Camera Land. This magnesium-bodied beauty summons the powers of a full-frame 21-megapixel sensor and mighty Digic 4 processor to bang out stills that often kick its much pricier brother, ...
Simple user interface. Self-cleaning sensor. Terrific high-ISO images. Peripheral-illumination correction eliminates vignetting to keep brightness consistent across the entire image. Auto lighting optimizer boosts shadow detail. Full manual control ...
Autofocus system is not as fast as, say, Nikon's
When Canon announced the 5D back in 2005, it was a game-changer. The camera was the first full-frame DSLR--meaning that its CMOS sensor is the same size as a frame of 35mm film, about 60 percent larger than the sensors in most DSLRs--in a standard ...
Incredible image quality. High resolution. Low image noise at high ISOs. Jaw-dropping video capability. Live view. AF adjust
Video can be cumbersome to control and is limited by short duration clips
For those with big ambitions--and a budget to match--it's hard to go wrong with the 5D. It offers professional features and image quality in a prosumer body, and as an added bonus, you get incredible, if sometimes tricky-to-use 1080p video capability.
This is a superb D-SLR at a reasonable price....
Superb image quality even in low light. Ability to shoot 1080 HD video is an attractive bonus. The 24-105mm L class kit lens is a very good general purpose lens, a great match and bargain for this camera
The fps is somewhat slow for sports actions and the HD video AF is poor (you will be better off using manual focus when using Live View HD video)
A superb full frame digital camera for advanc...
At the time of writing, this is probably the best DSLR in term of image quality. The pro-qulaity video is only icing on the cake
This camera is not a good choice for those who are *hard-core*sports / bird photographers because of it's limited AF. Super high quality, FF, 21mp sensor requires extremely expensive "L" class lenses
WoW! that's what I have to say!
21 MP with really sharp images

Canon's update to the wildly popular full frame EOS 5D is here, and it's better than ever. The EOS 5D Mark II has a stunning 21.1-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with DIGIC 4 image processor, a vast ISO range of 100-6400, plus EOS technologies like auto lighting optimizer and peripheral illumination correction. It supports Live View shooting, Live View HD videos, and more. It can shoot up to 3.9 fps, has 9 AF points plus 6 AF assist points, a 98% coverage viewfinder, a 3.0-inch Clear View...
