The Olympus E-450 digital SLR camera is an upgrade from the E-420. While there's not a huge difference between these two cameras, it's more of a testament to the solid performance of the previous model rather than a fault with the newer one. Olympus...

Olympus E-450

The e450 is quite the mini-mite. Well built, feature packed, small and light, comfortable to hold and operate. I like that it is so customizable, and has so many software items to choose from for image output. The e450 supports monochrome shooters...

Olympus E-450 review

As an entry-level digital SLR, the Olympus E-450 doesn't disappoint. Its diminutive dimensions, positive handling, excellent layout and optical viewfinder make it a practical alternative to the Micro Four Thirds-based Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1, as well...

Small size ; Optical viewfinder ; Decent build quality ; Live view ; Good picture quality ; Reasonable price

Cramped viewfinder ; Tardy contrast-detection autofocus system

Conclusion As a step up from a compact camera, the Olympus E-450 is a strong contender for your cash. Pentax offers the equally appealing K200D, which features the same sensor resolution but adds a very attractive body-integrated anti-shake system....

Olympus E-450

Olympus has announced yet another camera to contend for the title of the world's smallest dSLR. It's not much of an evolution from the E-420, but has a couple of extra features that have trickled down from its older siblings.

The Olympus E-450 will be available from September for AU$999 with a 14-42mm lens.

Product Specifications

The E-450 is the world's smallest digital SLR with built-in Art Filters. The three Art Filters - Pop Art, Pin Hole and Soft Focus - bring greater creativity and freestyle experimentation to the new E-450. The new camera also provides heavyweight technologies, including a 2.7-inch LCD and fast, consumer-friendly on-screen Autofocus, Face Detection, Shadow Adjustment Technology and Perfect Shot Preview to help you get the most out of the Live View experience.
