Hauppauge HD PVR Review

Simple connections; easy to use software; very good image quality

Generational loss in video quality; relies on the “analog hole,” which might be plugged someday

Other than that, the Hauppauge HD PVR is a great piece of hardware for recording high-definition video, and it’s dead simple to use.

Hauppauge HD PVR

The Hauppauge HD PVR lets you make high-quality, high-definition recordings, and can even burn regular DVDs for Blu-ray players.

Records HD programming without copy protection concerns (via the "analog hole"). Burns Blu-ray-compatible, high-definition DVDs. High-quality audio and component video cables included.

Doesn't function as a standalone DVR. Complex setup involves multiple software packages. Remote is nonfunctional with bundled software.

The DVD burning portion of the software offers a nice assortment of design themes and menu layouts for each production. The Utilities section, meanwhile, contains ArcSoft MediaConverter, which lets you target specific devices for transcoding video...

Hauppauge HD PVR: Recording live TV on computer like never before

The concept of “Customer is King” is an old one, which has changed the dimensions of the consumer-driven product markets. But so far, this has been restricted to the commodity sector only. The digital world was securely ...

Computers and mobile phones are not only changing the way we communicate, but also the way we get entertained. TV-on-the-move is no more a distant dream with high definition personal video recorders (HD PVR), which can record programs from TV and store...

Review: Hauppauge HD PVR

Hauppauge makes a simple HD recording box

Good video quality ; Integrates with many third-party apps ; Capable remote

ArcSoft software okay, but unexceptional ; IR blaster slightly tricky to set up

Hardware and setupWhile the front of the HD PVR has a set of RCA and S-Video inputs , the real connectivity for the HD PVR is in the back. The front panel connections are intended for occasional use with video cameras or VCRs. The back side of

Hauppauge HD-PVR - Bjorn3D.com

The old argument of why would you need to replace the heatsink on your video card, is a long and perilous argument. There are still people out there that thinks that they should not have to purchase an aftermarket GPU cooler for their video card(s)....

The Hauppauge HD PVR is a perfect candidate for anyone who wants a versatile HD recorder that also wants to record from multiple devices.

Hauppauge HD PVR 1212

Recording HD gaming sessions (or any other video) has never been easier.

The suggested system requirements for the software are minimal and the actual requirements are even less. I can attest to this because I used my extremely slow laptop to connect to the 1212 and had no troubles at all. The recorded video came out great...

Hauppauge HD PVR

Gamers can record live game play with the Hauppauge HD PVR – one of the best gaming DVRs on the market.

The Hauppauge HD PVR's two-year warranty is one of the best on the market

The DVR has no internal memory storage capabilities

While the Hauppauge HD PVR wouldn't be the best choice for replacing your cable company’s DVR, it excels at recording live game play from your Xbox or Playstation.

Hauppauge HD PVR review

Record TV from your PC with this nifty little box

HD video capture ; Arcsoft software ; Simple setup

Expensive ; Some software not great ; Not really a PVR

Limited features, but does the job well enough

Hauppauge HD PVR

The Hauppauge HD PVR is a personal video recorder, but not in the traditional sense.

On a brighter note, however, the inclusion of Arcsoft's TotalMediaExtreme software suite, which comprises video capture, playback and disc authoring and burning, is far more useful. Also included in this software collection is a media converter,...
