not worth 300 dollars

bought 2 yrs ago at walmart and last month it stopped working. it will turn on and say "hello" and 10 seconds later it turns off and you cant eject the disk or nothing. It happened all the sudden and i havent figured out the problem yet but i think it...

good playback on dvd's and vhs tapes. easy to use

none, other than it stopped working just out of the warranty

Two month owner of this model.

This is my second one. First one failed after 2 weeks and was replaced. I would recommend the extended warranty thru Sam's. Here's why. I also have a DR-MV100B model which is almost identical to this one. It too failed....but just days past it's 1 year...

Very good recording quality. Decent price in a not very crowded market segment. Sam's under $200 ; Wanted a Combo unit to save space and also because we could still play and record VHS if we wanted. (still like old school)

Menu is NOT very intuitive. Buttons are small. Difficult to program and then label discs

So far all is good.

I would say to anyone looking for a combo recorder this is a good one for the money. I will see how long it lasts. I have had this unit for only a month but have recorded a least two dozen DVD'S on all the different types of disks. It is easy to set up...

Good quality DVD recording. Reads every disk I have put in it so far, something my Samsung would not do even from day one. Play back is good on all formats

None so far

I like the fact that this unit has a digital tuner.

Everything working so far except playing DVD-RAM disk. Unit is easy to setup and use

Playing a movie DVD-RAM disk has occasional cutoff of sound. Not sure whether this is due to the unit or the original movie recording

When you know you newegg

I originally was going to buy what I thought was a Toshiba equivalent of this JVC JVC DR-MV150B, and almost did until I read a review that claimed the Toshiba did not have a tracking adjustment...which in my case was needed for VHS tapes recorded on an...

None yet. Hope for long and defect free operation

DR-MV150B died just over 1 yr

BUY A SQUARETRADE WARRANTY LIKE I DID AND YOU CAN REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE LIKE I WILL. I may get this again if I can find more good reviews as it has a lot of good things about it... I bought it when they first cam out.. :(

Many.. Upconversion, one-touch recording, HDMI & optical outputs

Mine may have been a dud when new but it was cumbersome to set up titles and chapters... I use Studio 10 / 11 etc. and this was very hard in comparison to that, although I know it is a PC format vs TV

Works perfectly, but wish it was DVR

The recorder works perfectly, but I wish I'd ordered one with some DVR capabilities. It works perfectly for what it says it does.

Aswesome in a package

This unit impressed me enough that my media center has one along with my media convesion business having one. Will record to any media but a DL, but will record flawlessly to any other media you throw into it. Only thing it wont record to that a TiVO...

Straightforward for the most part, self explanatory for those tchnically challenged, records to all but DL media

Some items that are top menu on other units are a few layers down on this unit

A Good Choice in a Shrinking Pool

This is an excellent choice for anyone with a large VHS collection who wants to transfer their favorite old TV shows or home movies to DVD format without having to mess with a computer, and for anyone who does not have a DVR or other Tivo-like recorder...

I purchased this for my mother, who is not exactly tech-savvy and is still enamored of the VHS format, hoping to drag her into the 21st Century. Being unable to find a new VHS recorder with a tuner for her, and hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone, I...

My only cons with this unit, and the reason I did not give it 5 eggs is that the programming and menu options are not as intuitive as they could be and the instructions could definitely be clearer in some places. I was able to help her, over the phone,...
