Full of bugs. Both VCR and DVD stopped working.

Within the first year, the VCR broke and was repaired under warranty. About a year later (now out of warranty), the DVD player stopped working. It won't read DVD's at all anymore; it doesn't even know when a DVD is inserted (complains about bad DVD's...

All the features I was looking for in one unit

None of them work properly. The product is a major lemon, and should be covered by lemon laws

Poor. Only lasted 13 months

After several weeks VHS tapes would get stuck in the unit. Took the unit to a repair center. Tapes still would not eject 50% of the time after I got it back (I had to reach in and lift tape as it ejected). The remote worked intermitently after about 6...

Very Disappointed

I purchased this recorder in 2006. After occasional use, the DVD drive stopped working. I took it to a repair shop and they said my DVD drive was broken. Replacement cost exceeded the original purchase price. I must admit that I did not check CNET's...

Transfer (copying) from VHS to DVD and DVD to VHS

What were the engineers thinking?

Bought this to do a variety of tasks, including copying my home VHS tapes to DVD. Have fought with the manual to accomplish anything but the straightforward copy. Unit needs separate controls for VHS and DVD sides. It was really designed to just copy...

Straightforward copying works

Everything else is way too complex

Took Two College Graduates Two Weekends To Master

I see a lot of comments here regarding the "chapters" feature. What I learned after our 80-hour lesson with the user manual for this machine, is that the features offered by the machine are dependent upon what type of media you are using for the...

It works well with a Panasonic TV (remotes are compatible)

You need a degree in engineering to follow the manual

Too many problems

I've had 2 problems. The first was an easy fix. After copying 60 tapes that were recorded in the 80's, the heads got too dirty to read. As I said, that was an easy fix- a head cleaner fixed the problem. But, last week, the DVD crapped out and tells me...

When it's working, I love it

It's not good enough

Just took mine back to Sear after the 30 day trial. Sorry about the wine, but I didn't do my homework before I bought this model. I actually didn't know what the issued were. Now (I think) I do.

Lot's of good features

WON'T READ ANY PC GENERATED CD/DVD
