Product Specifications

Offering unprecedented versatility for video production systems, the DMR-T3040 teams a DVD-RAM/DVD-R recorder with a built-in 40-Gigabyte hard drive to provide expanded flexibility for viewing, recording and DVD duplication. The large-capacity DMR-T3040 records up to 52 hours (in the EP mode) of video on its 40GB hard disk drive, 12 hours on a 9.4GB double-sided DVD-RAM disc, and 6 hours on a DVD-R disc. The DMR-T3040 is equipped with an IEEE 1394 input to permit the high-speed transfer of digital video from a IEEE 1394-equipped DV camcorder, like the full-size AG-DVC200, to the hard drive, and the unit's PC card slot makes it easy to copy images from a digital still camera. The DMR-T3040 offers a programmable auto renewal recording function that can be programmed to automatically record video, such as a satellite feed, at a specific time daily or weekly onto the hard drive, as well as a relief recording feature that automatically records to the hard drive when a DVD-RAM or DVD-R disc is full. In addition to recording new video content, the DMR-T3040 facilitates the transferring of VHS tape recordings to space-saving DVD-RAM or DVD-R disks or the internal hard drive. DVD-RAM offers high storage capacity on removable media, high-speed data transmission, exceptional picture and sound quality, fast, random access memory and rewritability up to 100, 000 times. The DMR-T3040 records onto highly compatible DVD-R disks allowing sharing video recordings with virtually anyone with a DVD player. High quality digital copies of originally created video content can be used for an array of applications: weddings, education, events, training, sports, video kiosks, product demonstrations and entertainment. Video libraries can be archived, preserved, and easily cataloged and accessed on DVD. Once video is recorded to DVD, it is instantly accessible and ready to view without having to search, rewind or fast-forward. The DVD recorders allow users to easily navigate, edit scenes and create custom play lists of digital content on a DVD disc. Offering a new 3-1/8" high slim design, the DMR-T3040 provides five different recording speeds, varying in recording quality and length. These Panasonic recorders offer a Time Slip feature that allows users to watch a program in progress from the beginning, while the program continues to record to the end. The units' Time Slip button permits a user to go back to a desired scene during recording. A Direct Navigator function displays a list of recorded programs on each disc for an at-the-glance confirmation of contents. The Playlist Playback function allows the arrangement and saving of an original scenario from among the scenes already recorded. The DVD recorders also offer a built-in time base corrector, 3D separation circuitry and 3D digital noise reduction to improve video quality in analog-to-digital transfer. In addition, a built-in standard PC card slot enables users to download and save digital images from an SD Memory Card, MultiMedia Card, Compact Flash, Smart Media and other flash memory cards. In addition to recording and playing DVD-RAM and DVD-R discs, this recorder can also play DVD-video, music CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs.
