Philips DVDR3545v/37

The Philips DVDR3545V/37 combines easy to use features with a pleasing interface into an easy to use product that gets the job done.

This is a good one.

The onscreen menues can be a little confusing. Less tech savy users my find it difficult to manage, so keep that in mind if buying this as a gift.

This recorder works just the way you want it to. Built in digital tuner, records back and forth between VHS and DVD and has plenty of options. Phillips knows how to make a sturdy machine that is mostly user friendly.

None for me.

Ditto

I have the brand new version of this, not the re-manufactured /37 model for sale here. I can't imagine that this one could be any better, though.

Digital tuner ; copies from VHS tapes to DVD's at various speeds (1hr, 2hrs, 2.5hrs, 3hrs, 4hrs and 6 hrs) ; recording quality from analog (cable) broadcasts to DVD is decent

Record quality from VHS to DVD is poor - I haven't tried going from DVD to VHS and have no reason to do so ; recording from composite and S-Video inputs is even worse ; often when you change the channel it will change right back to wherever it was set...

Very Disappointing

It looks horrible. Remote is the cheapest, flimsiest thing I've ever seen for something like this.

It functions, I guess.

I have owned a number of DVD recorders of varing quality, but this one is a big disappointment.

Great when it works

I will admit, I use my DVD recorders every day. I had a Panasonic that lasted a year and 8 months. I had this Philips only 7 months, then it broke. I called Philips, and they were going to send me a new one. They called the next day and said that it...

Philips DVDR

While the picture quality is good, and everything seems to work okay, and the price is right, actual usage leaves much to be desired. Let's say you just recorded the highlights of your favorite sports event onto the hard drive, and you ended up with 20...

Great Picture quality

had trouble with the hard drive
