Pioneer DVR-645H

A DVD recorder with plenty of storage space, Pioneer's DVR-645H has added features such as MP3 playback and USB connectivity.

Jukebox mode rips, stores and plays audio CDs, MP3 and WMA files ; Records to all types of DVD ; Ample 250GB of hard drive space ; USB for viewing photos and PictBridge printing ; Upscales DVDs via HDMI to 720p or 1080i

Single analog tuner gives average 4:3 pictures ; Long Play recordings are jittery and jagged ; No EPG functionality

If you're after clearer pictures or wishing to buy a widescreen TV, you'd be better served by a recorder with a digital tuner -- an HD digital tuner if you've got a HD-ready television. However, if you need to save your recordings to DVD share with...

Pioneer DVR-645H

I bought it 3 days ago (AUD$640 from Ebay). I have not tested everything. So far I found out it is good enough for me,especially recording and playing DVD.With some grainy old movies it can produce good

Good playback with HDMI.Extra inputs

No Optical out put ; This recorder does NOT remember the position when I take the DVD out; it is inconvenient

pioneer dvr-645h review: A DVD recorder with plenty of storage space, Pioneer's DVR-645H has added features such as MP3 playback and USB connectivity.

Good quality, paid for itself several times over.... Can record ANYTHING>> I record a movie while I sleep and pack it all up to watch at work.. Have a nice v-mate library for my PSP>.(my co-workers agree w/me as well) as long as you update the...

Needed more instructions... took me 3 times to get it perfect. Not a quicky... you have to play out the "movie" to get it to record... but its not a bad thing... you can do it in your sleep, Single analog tuner gives average 4:3 pictures, Long Play...

A decent upgrade from a VCR but the lack of digital tuners means picture and sound quality of free-to-air broadcasts are not improved.
