Humax PVR9300T review

Freeview+ should be considered a must-have for those without Sky TV, as it offers all the recording flexibility that the satellite broadcaster (and Ross Kemp) has been boasting of.

Easy and resonsive to use ; Fine AV erformance ; Well-featured

USB ort has been deactivated ; Limited HDMI modes

Humax PVR-9300T Freeview PVR review

Humax have always pleased their followers by offering good solid solutions at an affordable price. The PVR-9300T ticks most of the boxes on the spec sheet at a price that should appeal to most shoppers. But can the box from Humax live up to its...

Ease of use, HDMI, capacity, connection options

Fan noise, EPG and menus a little blocky

An impressive spec sheet and price that will appeal to many. Careful siting is needed to reduce fan noise

It doesn't offer Freeview HD, but this capacious hard-disk recorder is a fine PVR if standard-def will suffice…

A sensibly priced and highly desirable way into Freeview+

Humax PVR-9300T review

The 9300T is a worthy replacement for the 9200T, offering masses of storage space and superb recording quality. Unfortunately, the operating noise is ludicrous

Design ; Picture quality ; Ease of use ; Included cables

Fan noise

If you're looking for an alternative, then we suggest thinking about the TopUp-TV-branded Thomson box, which offers many of the same features, but has a bargain basement price to increase interest in the pay services of TopUp

Humax PVR-9300T review

Humax's latest PVR is far slimmer than previous models, including the excellent PVR-9200TB. The pale-blue LCD display isn't an improvement, though: it's not that stylish, or particularly bright.

Humax PVR-9300T Freeview PVR

If you're in the market for a personal video recorder, Humax's PVR-9300T is worth considering.

The PVR-9300T fails in its bid to return to the top of the PVR premiership because its feature list is inferior to that of the Topfield TF5810PVRt, which adds a working USB port, a 500GB hard-disk and 1080i upscaling. But the Humax is still a fantastic...

A sensibly priced and highly desirable way into Freeview+

Works exceedingly well as both a tuner and a recorder; easy to use; well made and classy; sensibly priced; good spec

No 1080i/1080p scaling - but that's not an issue

Humax PVR9300T 320GB Digital TV Recorder - Black.

Have only had Humax PVR9300T 320GB Digital Recorder for a few weeks and happy to say have had no problems as yet.

Humax PVR9300T

This Freeview PVR from Humax has two digital tuners and can store up to 200 hours of recordings on its integrated 320GB hard drive. There's also one-touch record scheduling in the EPG, a pause-and-play live TV function and Picture in Picture.

Upscaling blocky Freeview channels may be akin to slapping lipstick on pig, but this porker looks almost good enough to kiss. The Humax does a great job of cleaning up the more pixellated programmes, and has a huge hard drive with room for 200 hours of...

Is that a police helicopter hovering outside your window? Or perhaps a tsunami thundering down your street? Nope, it’s just the Humax’s cooling fan – although it does get quieter when you update the firmware over-the-air. Another annoyance is an...

Immensely powerful and flexible digital video recorder than polishes up Freeview nicely. Just watch out for that noisy fan and sluggish EPG.
