Samsung BD-H6500 Blu-ray Disc Player Review

The Samsung BD-H6500 is a great example of how much Blu-ray Disc players have evolved since their introduction. In addition to spinning discs, the BD-H6500 can access content from the internet, your PC, USB flash drives, and, in most cases, your...

Samsung BD-H6500 review

Multi-talented 3D Blu-ray player with dual core processing and 4K upscaling

Excellent user interface ; Streaming video apps ; 4K upscaling ; Good blu-ray images

Poor app organisation ; 4K files not played ; Predictable design

For all the niceties of 4K upscaling, a wide choice of apps and digital file playback, it's the dual core processing inside this good value 2D and 3D Blu-ray deck that most impresses. With a decent – if oddly organised – collection of smart apps and...

Samsung strikes gold with its revamped budget Blu-ray spinner

Excellent features, particularly online content ; Fast operation and attractive onscreen presentation ; Dazzling hi-def pictures

Lightweight build quality ; Not a massive evolution from the F6500

Elsewhere you’ll find screen mirroring, which lets you view your Android phone or tablet on a TV over a network, 3D playback, 4K (UHD) upscaling, a DTS Neo:6 mode and support for HD audio formats. The Tools menu offers a range of picture presets...

Samsung BD-H6500

Perfect 2D & 3D Blu-ray playback, Brilliant scaling of DVDs, Tons of video apps, Quick to load discs, Fantastic price

Limited connections, Uninspiring design

The BD-H6500 is an inoffensive black box with a rounded-out front-right corner, which has a set of basic controls moulded in to a dial atop it. There’s a large and very legible display panel just to the right of a tray loading disc mechanism, which is...

Samsung BD-H6500

Great upscaling for regular dvd to 24k. Fast loading times

Sometimes glitchy. If paused too long the sound field reverts from DTS HD master to all channel stereo on my receiver. Need to go back to menu to correct problem. Techs at Samsung have no answer

Onto second machine, this one still not working - giving up!

Bought one - and found that on playing all disks, Blue ray, standard, older and brand new DVD's the picture would flash black and then come back again in random places. Checked all of our cables, and we have a newish Sony TV, and we also have had other...

Samsung BD-F6500 Blu-ray player

Overall it is a good little machine but does have four cons. The wifi signal keeps dropping out even if the device is right beside the modem/router, I have also tried connecting it via ethernet but have the same problem(probably has cheap network...

Sleek, reliable(mostly),design, being able to use an actual keyboard or mouse when using the browser, value for money, easy to use & being able to make it region free.

Wifi, web browser, only one usb port & no channel up & down buttons.
