Biggest piece of crap ever!

Absolute junk. DO NOT BUY!!!! Okay, now that that is said, here's the breakdown. I needed a DVD recorder to put all the hours upon hours of VHS home movies I have (mostly the kids) onto DVD. Well, that IS what this is made for isn't it? I guess...

Cutting to the chase, this is the worst consumer electronic product I have ever owned. It refuses to play even brand new dvds, randomly decides what it can and cannot play, and forget about recording -- it won't even consider it no matter what format...

DVD -R's should not be disposable

We have had this unit for a little over a year - and we have to spend over $100 to have it repaired for its "system error" It has always been a little quirky to use and now it is just useless. Off I go to purchase another and not a Samsung this time.

Product Specifications

One Touch Recording button on Samsung DVD Recorders makes recording easier than ever. By simply pressing the button, Samsung DVD Recorder automatically searches the available recording space on the disc and starts recording the selected program. Pressing the "Recording" button once will record up to 30 minutes and pressing twice will record up to an hour. Each time you press the button, Samsung DVD Recorder automatically records an additional 30-minute length of the selected program. The recording time on a disc is a maximum of 240 minutes depending on the recording mode. Once the recording is completed, simply press the "PLAY" button.
