Waste of money

 

Waste of money

For anyone wanting to use this recorder in a non Windows Explorer setup - ie well over half the market, forget it. This DVR won't work in anything but IE, and it installs unverified ActiveX files. Avoid.

This item was very easy to set up and has some good capabilities & good size hard drive; however, from the very first day it had hard disk failure. We are returning it. May try our luck with another but if that doesn't work either, then I would not...

You would think it would be compatible with its own Swann cameras. All the functions will not work with the Swann wireless camera. I have it recording, but it has to flash from one camera to the other in about 20 second intervals. I cannot record...

Swann greatly improved its Internet software. The IE does not block the Add-On installation and the viewing application is not limited to a specific screen resolution. But these few improvements do NOT overshadow the end result. The price of this DVR...

Product Specifications

The DVR16-8600 is a 16 Channel DVR that features advanced H.264 level compression. This kit includes 8 x 50ft Siamese double shielded BNC cables. A 250GB Seagate SV35 hard drive is also preinstalled. The Swann DVR16-8600 includes some incredible, professional-grade features including 240 IPS recording, Pentaplex operation (recording, playback, set-up, back-up and network surveillance simultaneously), VGA output for connection to a VGA monitor. The kit has an adjustable network bit rate, easy remote connectivity, and supports IE browser for remote view; just download a small active file, theres no need to install any software. For ease of use the DVR has a remote control, 3D graphic user interface, 2 x USB 2.0 ports for back-up and mouse control.
