Not worth the money

Not worth the money

This item came without an owner's manual. We also couldn't get a picture on it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Refurbs are just not reliable.

Toshiba DVR660 doesn't last

Toshiba DVR660 doesn't last

This unit worked fine for 11 months, before the dvd drive started making grinding sounds, and stopped recording dvds. Toshiba has a chintzy warranty of 90 days labor & 1 year parts. When I tried to make a warranty claim, I was told the only option...

VHS doesn't work so it's useless in this sense.

Toshiba DVR660: I'm waiting for the return authorization. I called several times asking for a manual - it never came. I purchased the DVR to tape from VHS to DVD - the VHS does not work so it's useless to me. I am requesting another DVR to see if...

Works "as designed", though some design features are not good

I bought this just to convert a bunch of old VHS tapes to DVDs, and I am quite satisfied with the ease with which it can be accomplished. My only gripe there is that I can't choose arbitrary points for chapters while finalizing and titling the DVD. ...

More than a replacement for VCR

More than a replacement for VCR

Initially I was looking for a VCR with a digital tuner to replace the old analog VCR. My needs were to record football games during the season, and tape overlapping TV programs for later viewing. So, I didn't need anything fancy (read expensive). ...

Not Too Happy

Not Too Happy

I bought this to replace a Sony that finally died. Set-up was pretty easy and recording to the DVD took about 4 hours total to figure out after reading the instructions. It isn't that straight forward. The big problem is recording to VHS tapes. There...
