A user-friendly, feature-packed PVR let down by gauzy pictures

HDMI switching ; Picture-in-picture ; Two USBs ; Design ; Ease-of-use

Picture quality is below par

Flawed pictures, but in all other respects the DTR-HV250 is a very impressive Freeview PVR

TVonics DTR-HV250 DVR

A fine and capable Freeview+ DVR that ticks all the standard-def boxes and produces a very fine on-screen image.

As a standard definition Freeview recorder, the HV250 is hard to fault. It's well made, attractive, easy to use and does everything you would want it to do and we can see the three HDMI ports coming in very handy. Not the cheapest of devices though and...

Tvonics Freeview DTR-HV250 250GB with HDMI

Really clear guide; to understand functions; records two channels at once; comfortable, easy remote. We love it.

Small delay when you've asked it to record a programme before you can do anything else. Really, this is just seconds, but if you are programming several things, it can be a little frustrating. Wouldn't stop me buying it again.
