Boing! Docomodake

Charming, simple, and oh-so-much fun

Original concept ; Enjoyable puzzles and platforming ; Fitting music

Maneuvering minis is difficult in close quarters

I got it because it's pretty cheap now (has been out for months in Europe), seems pretty good so far.

Boing! Docomodake DS (2009) on Nintendo DS

extremely charming, it has a very old school puzzle/platformer vibe, and dares to try something different with the DS touch screen. I have no idea why this game came to the US, but I'm down for more in the future. Bring it on

Ignition's minimalist DS puzzler good, simple fun.

Boing! Docomodake

When you first find out about Boing! Docomodake, there's an inevitable first question: what the heck is Docomodake? Once you realize that it's the mascot of a cell phone company in Japan, you start to wonder why there's an English version. Perhaps it...

Boing! Docomodake

Corporate branding through the use of cute mascot characters has long been a marketing tool to sell units and entice new customers, regardless of the specific industry in question. Video game tie-ins with film, cartoons, products, and books are often...

Boing! Docomodake DS review

Apparently video games featuring mushrooms are fairly popular. Games like Super Mario Bros., which features a plumber who grows and gets extra lives from eating mushrooms. Then there is a whole video game - Mushroom Men - which not only devotes its...

The Nintendo DS was touted as being a driver of innovation. It has certainly delivered on that promise. Docomodake is just another example of developers making use of the touch screen in creative and fun ways. This game is quite addicting, as well as a...

Boing! Docomodake DS

A Japanese cell phone mascot has its own game in the United States? That is really puzzling considering the last cell phone mascot based game failed big time. Ignition Entertainment must be thinking outside of the box because they brought over Boing!...

Boing! Docomodake DS is well worth the asking price of $20. The game does have its flaws but when you consider how much other DS games like this cost you will start to see the good again in Boing! Docomodake DS.

Boing! Docomodake DS Review

If you look back at some of the games that have come out over the years, it's amazing there haven't been any major drug busts in the software development industry. No, seriously. Look at some of the games and their concepts that we've been subjected...

And remember kids, reviewers don’t do drugs. It’s hard to be snide when you're floating with the fairies.

Boing! Docomodake DS Review for DS

Boing! Docomodake DS for DS Review - Boing! Docomodake is an imaginative, slightly quirky platform puzzler which will be great for the kids but doesn't hold a whole lot of challenge for adult gamers.

Boing! Docomodake (DS) review

Forgive me for being pessimistic, but the second I come across any sort of film or television 'tie-in', the alarm bells start ringing and I immediately assume the worst. Imagine then, the levels of skepticism when first loading up Boing! Docomodake, a...

Boing! Docomodake is a difficult game to gauge. At times it can be painfully frustrating - with some puzzles requiring a complete level-restart if failed initially ? and it's criminal just how short it is. But on the contrary, Boing! is filled with...

An original ingenious game.

This is a fantastic little game. I'd describe it as a platform game with strategy & planning involved. Your aim is to get to the end of each level collecting everything along the way. There are 6 areas with 8 levels in each. Also at the end there's a...
