Orcs and Elves - Nintendo DS

Anyone remember Dungeon Master? No? Ok, at the risk of showing my age, Dungeon Master was a milestone in gaming. Published way back in 1987 on the Atari ST, and then a year later on the far superior (cue flame war) Amiga, Dungeon Master is widely...

Simple, intuitive interface, RPG-lite fun, Easy drop in and out gameplay, All the tricky RPG stuff glossed over, Simple, intuitive interface, RPG-lite fun, Easy drop in and out gameplay, All the tricky RPG stuff glossed over

Too simplistic for the seasoned RPGer, tricky, Auto-mapping gives away most of the secrets, Too simplistic for the seasoned RPGer, tricky, Auto-mapping gives away most of the secrets

For the more committed RPGer, you'll probably find Orcs and Elves a bit too much like an 'RPG lite'. Levelling up purely increases your health, resetting it to max and giving you more charge on your wand blasts. Add in the linear progress through the...

Orcs and Elves

As a game, Orcs and Elves may not be nearly as unusual or extraordinary as the story behind it. A long time ago (about 2 years) in a land far, far away (the offices of developers Fountainhead Entertainment and Id Software), a group of brave warriors...

Unique approach to the genre ; Surprisingly fun and addictive

Can be a bit too simple ; Presentation is unbalanced

It’s a Doom RPG from cell phones with a fantasy theme ported to the DS. Odd? Sure, but it’s a good, unique dungeon crawler that’s surprisingly addictive in spite of its somewhat simplistic nature. If you’re a fan of the genre (or simply curious), it’s...

Orcs and Elves (DS)

Orcs, Elves, and other unsavory sorts await in this turn based action RPG that is, in the end, a dungeon crawler without long periods of grinding required. You may also notice this game was created by Id, the folks behind Doom.

Simplistic, yet satisfying

Simplistic, yet satisfying

"Orcs and Elves" was originally released as a mobile-phone game by iD software many a moon ago and the foundation of its humble roots is readily apparent in its 'spruced up' remake version here on the Nintendo DS. Even with its slightly crude...

Nintendo DS Orcs and Elves

I don't think younger game players will like this. I found it to be bloody and frustrating. I was sorry that I purchased it and resold it without even finishing it. Maybe older players who are into Lord of the Rings and used to this sort of game...

How boring...

How boring...

Pretty pitiful. It plays like an old text based game that just so happens to have graphics. Slow gameplay, weak battle mechanics, and that really lame old D&D first person dungeon style maneuvering. Really. Just don't bother with this one at all.

Great Adventure RPG Fun - Recommended!

"Orcs & Elves" for the DS is a solid RPG for the DS. My 12 year old son really enjoyed it and found it challenging enough to keep his interest. He has replayed the whole game at least twice and says it is still fun. He makes the following Observations:...

Addictive and fun

I just finished playing Orcs & Elves. It's an absorbing game, for hours of fun almost everyday for about a month! The graphics are nothing special, but gameplay is brilliant. You have your potions, such as health, parasitic, champions, you have your...
