Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

I was really looking forward to another entry in the Final Fantasy Tactics series, and was hoping Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 2: Grimoire of the Rift would be similar to the original game. But it isn?t. And I'm disappointed.

I?m sorry, but I have a hard time recommending this game to anyone except first timers. Everyone else would be disappointed with how the series has progressed. I especially find it hard to recommend this game when another Tactics game - Final Fantasy...

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the GBA caused quite a stir in the strategy RPG world. Many fans of the Playstation classic Final Fantasy Tactics didn't like its kiddy nature and light-hearted storytelling. They also didn't like some of the design...

It's hard to understand why Square Enix didn't put any effort into the story, which would have upped the greatness of this game significantly had it been good. Even after some disappointments, FFTA2 remains worth it for all the reasons that FFTA was:...

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

I've been planning to get this game for years now, and I'm glad to hear it'll be worth my money. Post a Comment

A great addition to the Final Fantasy Tactics family. Gaming on the go never felt more fun than having an army of sprites fighting on your side.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Terribly cute turn-based tactical battle is best on the DS.

Fantastic graphics; great music; more jobs; more races; improved judges

Bazaar can impede progress; obeying laws can be annoyingly out of your control

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Final Fantasy Tactics was the best game on the Playstation when it came out in 1998. To this date the game is still a classic. Later on we got to see Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and a directors cut of the original game (Final Fantasy Tactics) on the...

I am pretty damn sure I missed some things about this game, but it doesn?t matter. A2 is the best experience on the Nintendo DS right now. The $39.99 price tag may make some gamers question a purchase. Guess what, this game should cost more with...

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Ivalice has to be one of the most compelling locations for a video game series ever. Sure, you may love Mana, Gaia, or even the vast universe of Kingdom Hearts, but it seems that of all the worlds created by Square-Enix, Ivalice has become the most...

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Where's Atreyu? Wait, what book did I fall into?

The added stylus controls don't add much to the gameplay, and I found myself relying on the less annoying direction pad than I did on navigating the map with a stick. Also, you still can't rotate the battlefield, and things tend to get aggravating when...

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

It has been ten years since Square Enix, or more accurately, Square, released the original Final Fantasy Tactics for the PlayStation back in 1998. The game's radical departure from the trademark role-playing gameplay mechanics of the core Final Fantasy...

While not without its flaws, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is a truly excellent turn-based strategy title. It may not have the involving plot of the original Final Fantasy Tactics, and it does occasionally suffer from overly-long...

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

The isometric art of war

The basics are largely the same, though, as you order around a squad of half a dozen or so different characters on small isometric, grid-based, levels. Combat is turn-based but instead of the usual chorus line routines of traditional role-playing games...
