SimCity Creator Nintendo DS Review

There are several modes of play to experience and we chose to begin with the Challenge mode. The tutorial, narrated by an anime-looking character, offers no interaction, and after reading our little friend's lines, we were shuttled off to the first era...

Classic SimCity gameplay on a handheld system, different eras to play, landscaping

Waiting for something to happen, slow reaction time, low level of interaction with buildings and people, restrictive passing of time, Free Play mode saves over Challenge mode data

Anyone familiar with the SimCity franchise knows that the basic formula for success in all of these games involves zoning, budgeting and landscaping. Unfortunately, even these sure-fire features cannot save SimCity Creator from its fate as something...

SimCity Creator

This city-building game is a good choice for when you have plenty of hours to kill.

Easy-to-use stylus controls; multiple eras of civilization to take your cities through

Finer control can be finicky; long save and load times; you can't undo some costly mistakes

There's a lot to like about SimCity Creator, though. By providing a progression system and a couple interesting choices regarding what era you'll build in the game provides a rewarding incentive to sink in those hours. While it's not without its...

IGN: SimCity Creator

There are two game modes in Creator: Challenge and Freeplay. Challenge presents specific objectives that need to be met in order to cultivate your society, and Freeplay is a more traditional SimCity experience. But you only have two save slots shared...

The long-running franchise just can't find its footing on current Nintendo systems.

SimCity Creator

Age-old franchises, no matter how successful, can sometimes benefit from substantial changes. However, making too many of the wrong changes can cause fans to revolt. With a series like SimCity, players have come to expect a certain kind of city...

SimCity Creator

Taking a page from the Civilization handbook, SimCity Creator offers an enjoyable evolutionary building experience.

Lengthy Challenge mode eases you into making megacities ; Responsive controls make city-building easy ; Buildings are detailed and correspond to the time period

Only two save slots ; Some icons are too small

As accessible strategic games go, it's sim-ply the best

SimCity packs a serious punch

A game that any strategy fan can enjoy, despite some minor shortcomings.

Used Game

Just a warning that this game showed up and was a used game - there was no pamphlet inside. I haven't tested the game yet but was intending on giving it as a gift. So just beware that for the clearance price you may get a used copy

Not the best but its a sims game

I started with SimCity 2000 for the GBA all the way to SimCity 4 so when I got my DS I had to get this one. It starts off slow but then it gets real good just like you would think of a SimCity game.

Challenging ; Easy to learn ; Fun To Play

Poor/No Multiplayer Mode
