Super Scribblenauts

Expanding your vocabulary has never been this fun. The original Scribblenauts is considered one of the most unique and innovative games of this generation. The concept alone is so simple,...

Addictive and unique ; Improved controls ; Adjectives addition ; Level sharing

Some word combos don't work ; Not much challenge

Super Scribblenauts (DS) Review

Super Scribblenauts fixes everything wrong with the original while adding adjectives to the game's engine to create a one of a kind experience.

The addition of adjectives really add to this adventure ; Controls completely corrected ; Level editor is fun to mess around with ; Ability to create nearly any situation is half the fun

Relatively short ; Is overall an easy game

Super Scribblenauts is what happens when a developers listens to the fans and their complaints. Not only did they fix the controls, 5th Cell also added seemingly infinite combinations with the inclusion of adjectives. Despite the game lasting a few...

More fun than a bunch of purple spotted undead monkeys.

Innovative game mechanics, incredible breadth of stages, hilarious adjective system, game allows for real creativity and playfulness

Some obtuse puzzles

Scribblenauts returns with yet another disappointing puzzler. 5th Cell manages to get the control right, but the terrible campaign and limited puzzles drag everything down. There are remnnants of good ideas here, but Super Scribblenauts doesn't deliver...

Mission Possible

Rare sequel, that shines brighter than the first

Um. No co-op play

My favorite types of puzzles are the ones that allow you to combine many objects and ideas together to solve the overall goal. One puzzle in particular had me create many objects and items to infiltrate a high society party, overcome the security, and...

Super Scribblenauts - DS review at Thunderbolt Games

There's a witch trying to kill you. You don't know why, but it hardly matters anymore. The only thing you need to worry about is the legions of undead monstrosities she's summoned to tear you limb from limb. You frantically shuffle through the pages of...

Super Scribblenauts Review

Back in 2009, 5th Cell, the makers of Scribblenauts, put forth a very ambitious concept: a game that allowed people to enter any word they could think of, and conjure up that word's corresponding object. The idea was met with considerable skepticism...

It's good to see a developer listen and respond to community feedback and with Super Scribblenauts, 5th Cell demonstrates that it did just that. The game's simple control scheme fix eliminates the frustration, fulfilling the promise of the first title...

More of the same, but marginally improved.

Lots of puzzle variety ; Improved D-pad controls ; Adjectives for increased puzzle potential

Game isn't always good about telling you what you should be doing ; Level creator is overly complex ; Inconsistency with synonym use

So what you're saying is that it's a semi-decent improvement over the original Scribblenauts. Trouble is, it sounds as though the addition of adjectives, the 'major new feature' according to 5th Cell, is just another toy for the sandbox. Fair enough,...

Look for the boy in a funny hat.

Better camera; Better controls; Bigger dictionary; Cleaner graphics; New create-a-stage mode

Action stages too frustrating; A little light on content

Super Scribblenauts

Last year developer 5th Cell unleashed perhaps the most ambitious title of the year for the DS in Scribblenauts; its tagline was "Write anything. Solve everything," and for the most part the innovative dictionary-come-to-life system delivered on that...

All of the complaints about the original? Pretty much addressed, including and especially the controls and camera

Sometimes cryptic about what is and is not an acceptable for a solution to some puzzles
