Worked great for the first three months...

Easy to move around from one place to another, very compact and easy to use.

Not a good choice for long-term use.

DVD on the move.

I purchased my Aiwa XD-DV170 DVD player a few weeks ago, and have loved it since I opened the box. The unit itself is smaller than many books I've read. It has all the features of my full size DVD player (and even some extras). I use mine in the...

Bad experience with AIWA

Small Size

The unit is ideal for consumers who might want a player that's easily moved from one TV to another, or from one house to another - a vacation home, for example. What's more, the DC power option allows the unit to be used in a vehicle using an external monitor. Available as an option is an adapter to power the unit thorough a car's accessory power outlet. The XD-DV170 plays DVDs, CDs, CD-R/RWs and VCDs. It includes a 96kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter and a 10-bit video D/A converter. There's an optical digital output (Dolby Digital/DTS), one set of analog RCA outputs, plus one S-Video and one composite video output. The player provides forward and reverse search at X2, X8 and X32 speeds, forward slow play at 1/2, 1/5 and 1/30 normal speed and reverse slow play at 1/2 and 1/15 normal speed.
