Arcam FMJ BDP100 Blu-ray Player

The fundamental purpose of an optical digital disc player is to play back optical digital discs. While that may be self-evidently redundant, there's a wide selection of players on the market that offer a numbing range of additional, gee-whiz features....

Arcam AVR400 / BDP100 review

The British brand's latest Blu-ray and home cinema proposition is all about warmth and accuracy

Fastidious build quality ; Distinctive analogue sound quality ; Fabulous dynamics ; Blu-ray and DVD picture quality

AVR lacks a second HDMI output ; No THX-certification ; BD player has uneven media file support

Arcam BDP100

Much-improved thanks to the new firmware, but still not completely flawless

Terrific picture; fine sound in surround and stereo; backlit remote; some usability issues have been addressed

but not all; poor spec for the cash
