Not worth the money..junk

save your money. burn a dvd.

looks nice

doesn't work half the time. their answer to problems is reload latest software, update and wipe files then reload from backup, tired of reloading files. will use for an expensive backup device. that's all the good it is to me

Don't buy this

Don't buy this. I'm considering replacing it by an Apple Mini that I connect to my TV.

It's cheap. I was already suprised they could make this for 200 bucks

Of course, you'll want to play those blu-ray mkv files. But no, this player won't do it ; And the user interface is horrible. Not to mention the ridiculously slow network connection

Flawed, but could have been a contender

Looking for a way to port a multi-hundred DVD collection to a second TV... the Screenplay can do it. But... be prepared for an interface that is below no frills, a 1TB disk with no search functions, no user tags, nothing but file names and directory...

Excellent video quality, HDMI/Component, decent price, limited wi-fi support, usb expansion, ethernet

Horrible interface, bad remote, non-existent mfg support for upgrades or fixes, unreliable firmware. SLOW networking. Good hardware with a ridiculously poor software execution

Be aware what you are buying

Return on the second day.

Can't think of, maybe over priced is the PRO ; If you are going to play old fashioned files this might be a good choice

1. Will not play certain mkv files ; 2. Will not detect HDMI port, detect as component and throw 480i resolution ; 3. Refuse to play popular AVCHD MTS file with this price range

HDMI, Network , Large Capacity, Record from any source

first impression i got astonished from it's featurs but unfortunatly i got frusterated from the product when i used it, the very basic featurs is not compeleted and customer support act as if they don't know!

in the first place i like that it could record directly to the internal HD also the High Def. playback, it could play .VOD and .MKV HD DVDs ; also the large capacity help you to store whatever you want

max file transfer rate is not more 1Mbs, means 1 GByte file size takes around 25 Min, it seems it's a common problem they have ; interface could have much more featurs rather than this ; firmware for older product support much more languages

Very Good, works as advertised.

I have been using DVICO product TVIX which due to my carelessness while changing the harddisk messed it up having used for the last 5 years which was good but without the HDMI connector. I bought this product as the cost of the other products in...

Network, Usb, Playback file support all works like a charm without lags or problems. Even managed to play files from network systems. It is worth to have a multimedia player with HD support

while playing from HDMI there is shading which i have noticed like silver outline on the objects which are in the fore. otherwise playback is ok. had problems with the mapping initially but now its working fine

Works with a lot of WORK

Iomega advertises on their website that the Video Formats this unit supports without PC are file formats such as MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (HL/ML), .MPEG-4 (part 2, ASP), DivX (3.11, 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, HD), Xvid, AVI, mov, iso, vob, mp4, mkv. This does not seem to be...

Plays many media formats. Ethernet port. Simple Interface. 1TB Storage. Simple Set-Up

Much of the media can only be played via the provided Transcoder App

Works as advertised

You can not go wrong with this Multimedia Drive from Iomega unless you get a faulty unit. It worked as advertised out of the box.

Multiple video source, 1TB Storage, Network support, great picture quality, recoded files play in windows media player, Network attached storage, large codec support, HDMI, Component and Composite video output, suitable for network backup

The interface is functional but ugly. It is mostly black and no pictures and no way to change that in the present firmware. The remote have a very narrow angle. You have to aim directly for it to work. The network transfer is quite slow
