Don't waste your money.

Soon after purchasing, it stopped recording AND playing DVD's, whether home-recorded OR store-bought. It was still under JVC warranty (parts only). It cost me $125 for labor. I had to argue with the extended warranty company for reimbursement of that...

If I could get this unit to work longer than a week at a time, I might have some "Pros" to report. The company I bought it from (Vanns.com) was excellent & a GREAT help in getting the unit replaced. I will definitely buy from them again

I bought this unit with an extended warranty - good thing. It worked fine for a short time, then stopped recording DVD's. It never worked properly for more than a week or so. I gave it 1/2 star because they won't let me give it none

Won't even play store-bought DVD's

This unit worked okay for about two months, although the editing functions were a little awkward. After the two months, the unit would not accept any discs, even store-bought DVD's and DVD's that had been burned by itself. I called JVC and the advice...

If it worked as advertised it would be a great product

Unit stopped working after two months

My wife and I bought two (2) JVC DR-MV78 DVD/VHS Player/Recorder combo about 6 months ago and rarely used either one. Recently our twins started enjoying some educational DVD's and after a month of use, both machines started randomly indicating "No...

Good money down the drain - Deserves ZERO stars!

Good money down the drain - Deserves ZERO stars!

I wish I'd seen these reviews before I bought this lemon. I thought JVC made a quality product - not so. Soon after purchasing, it stopped recording AND playing DVD's, whether home-recorded OR store-bought. It was still under JVC warranty (parts only)....

VERY NICE MACHINE

VERY NICE MACHINE

I believe most of these other responses were submitted by people being compensated by competitors of JVC. I have used my unit almost continuously for more than a year, NEVER had ANY PROBLEMS of any kind. It is built very well and works like a champ....

JVC DVD-VCR Recorders get worse by the model!!

JVC DVD-VCR Recorders get worse by the model!!

This is my second JVC Dvd/VCR recorder. And my last. Within 5 months of buying it, it needed a major repair costing more than the unit cost me retail; fortunately ITS PARTS were covered in warranty except for the labor, which was also substantial. Not...
