TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY

It's tough to find a dvd/vhs recorder combo with a hard disc drive/dvr. That's why, in December 2006, I bought this unit online, new, although the model was over a year old. In July 2007, the machine died on me while recording a movie to the hard ...

Makes a decent paperweight.

Will die in less than 8 months & warranty will not cover repairs!

This machine does it All!

I have owned my DR-MX1 for over a year now and I am very satisfied with its performance and features. The two tuners mean I can watch a program off the air while another program is being recorded from my satellite dish and yet another is being recorded...

This unit does the job of 4 different machines without the messy cables.

A machine with this capability requires a learning curve, but it is worth the effort.

Could be a lot better

High speed dub (4x) with severe limitations

Klunky menus, Dense manual written by morons.

Records to HDD, DVD-R/DVD-RAM/DVD-RW and VHS. Nice on-screen menus. Decent remote layout.

Poorly integrated components, cryptic manual, player freezing, poor editing features, mutes slightly after resuming playback...
