Good

Great unit and value for money. Dix, xvid and mp3 / wma playback is better than i had expected. Easy to operate controls and great picture quality (with progressive and standard resolutions).

I purchased this unit because of it's Dix compatability of which i am very impressed. All but a handfull of dix / xvid files have played back without any problems. Progressive scan looks great. Will downmix HD programs with no problems to playback on...

Damaged discs can be a problem and can result in the unit locking up requiring a restart. Mp3 menu could be easier to use and you cannot browse other folders without stopping the currently playing track.

Terrible

I bought it in Jan 09 and it could read all the discs. But 2 weeks ago, I bought a kids dvd from abc shop. It had difficulty reading it smoothly. I took the dvd back to abc shop. But it works fine on shop dvd player, but they did exchange a new one for...

Worst is it broken in about 1 month.The door open is very rough. I always think it will break since the 1st day purchase. The component output with my LG lcd HD tv is worse than my toshiba portable dvd player connecting to AV.

Good

I bought this DVD player for two reasons, one it was inexpensive, and two, it could play DivX files. I also arrived on this particular player because I have had positive experiences with the LG brand name previously. Overall the unit has worked well...

Plays DivX files and is a reliable unit.

Can take a while to "think" when opening/closing disc tray, zoom feature is limited to 400% and 1600%!

Good

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with it. It was cheap but does the job perfectly. Ended up buying one for my dad as well. Very happy on the whole.

Price, plays scratched DVDs, looks like a neat little unit

When you turn it on, it takes a while before you can get the tray to open which can be frustrating. No child lock but that might be at a higher price point.
