Great for the price

I honestly can't tell the difference between my Ps3 and the Magnavox Blu ray far as picture quality goes when connected using my HDMI cable. So if you?re in need of a back up this little cheap player will do the job.

Brought this one as a back up to my Ps3. (The Kids play video games on that one) Not a back Blu ray player at all. Not many features but plays all of my Blu ray and DVD collection without a problem

Very so slow loading time. No thrills as far as features go

Nice Low Priced BluRay Player

Very happy with it, if you don't need internet hooked up this is for you at good price. Always load new firmware before you use it.

Plays everything I load into it, does 1080p so do not believe Soocom1's post. There is firmware updates but people lie and say there is not. Firmware updates at

none. it works

Basic Blue Ray Player, w/out the $$$$ frills & thrills

For $78, all one can hope for is a player that works, plays Blu-Rays, and plays them in a manner that looks better than a DVD. It does all of that, and not much more. But if you want more, you more than likely won't even be in the market for a cheap...

Cheap. Easy set-up. I cannot corroborate that it doesn't play 1080p. In fact, to be called a Blu-Ray player, is HAS to play 1080p. Mine played 1080p just fine! Picture looks good on my 46" Plasma, better than a DVD. Customer service was quick & easy

Loud. Sounds like my old laptop running. You CAN get firmware updates, though you have to burn them to a CD and insert the CD. Froze up a week after buying it

Cheap Blu-Ray Player

It is a good 'cheap' player. You get what you pay for. Does give a pretty decent picture though.

Cheap, easy to use, will last

Stops in the middle of a movie (DVD or Blu-Ray), loud hardware noises, terribly long time to start up

Garbage! Save your money!

Having purchased this thing the day after Black Friday, I figured that the Blu-ray had finally reached the point of affordability. I did not expect a miracle with this unit nor expected performance of a PS3. But I did expect something. Instead, the...

Nothing worth a positive rating

Wont play in 1080, no support from Magnovox, or Funai, no firmware update, slow on the remote, 480p grainy and choppy, no HDMI cable

Would not play BluRay Disk

It seems to be the luck of the draw whether you get one with the proper firmware or not. I'm taking mine back for a refund. My firmware is 1.002, and I found that deep in the setup menu.

Nice price, and the upsample for standard DVD looked good

I put in a bluray movie from netflix, and it wouldn't play. Marked it as damaged and the replacement wouldn't play either. I see comments on the web about "do a firmware upgrade" but no upgrade is available for this device

Short and sweet and to the point.

If you are looking for a Blu-Ray player just to watch Blu-Ray movies, this is a solid choice. The picture and sound is unbelievable. I personally do not care to chat with other people online while watching a movie nor taking trivia quizzes. This a...

This has everything that you need to watch a Blu-Ray movie. It is BD 1.1 so you can watch some special features, but that is about it. The firmware can be upgraded by burning a cd online

This is not internet capable. But who cares

Nice basic player

I got this during black friday sale at Walmart. At first I was a bit nervous buying it as price was low and no reviews posted. I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. It is BASIC but very good blu-ray player. Compared to my SAMSUNG BD player which is...

Load time is good. Amazing picture quality

No HDMI cable. A bit of noise when spinning disc during playback but can be easily ignored
