You get what you pay for

This is the very first blu ray player that I purchased. Why? Because it was CHEAP. I was expecting something basic and that's pretty much what I received from the Memorex MVBD2511. Heck I saw one there for 78$ so this one at least had to be middle...

Plays Blu Ray movies in expected Blu Ray format

Slow to load, eject, power on and off

Please support Memorex by buying this cheap product

Memorex MVBD-2511 Blu-ray Player

Bad product. The people at Memorex did seem to jump through the hoops more after I sent them a nasty-gram about this product. Perhaps they're getting enough negative feedback that's prompting them to take some kind of action even if that action doesn't...

It was free from a raffle. Plays DVDs fine and only time it loads a movie up quickly. That's about it

makes grinding noise when trying to load certain bd's. Received firmware update disc a few days ago. Now plays Wolverine where previously it didn't, but now fails to load Watchmen which it previously did (with all the grinding noises). Totally agree...

Memorex MVBD-2511 Blu-ray Player

I have contacted Memorex, and they asked me if I had the reciept. I've looked for it, but I guess I'm out of luck. I agree with cwicks911's comments. The reason why I decided to update the player with their latest firmware was because I couldn't play...

It's brand new? Upconverts DVD's to 1080p. Runs Quietly

Firmware update cripples Blu-ray playback, loads very slow, plays only older Blu-ray movies (before the firmware update)

I also got my Memorex MVBD2511 Christmas 2008. I tried the update from the web-site & player kept saying “not a firmware disc”…(this happened before it was a yr old) support told me it should work with the USB, so I tried that…would not update. Took...

Memorex MVBD2511 Blu-Ray Disc Player

I just brought one and it doesn't play FOX blu-ray dvds. If I can't update this, its going back. Does Samsung or Sony blu-ray players have this same problem? I hear PS3's plays all though.

Memorex MVBD2511 Blu-Ray Disc Player

Bought it and it does not play newer Blu-Rays. Memorex has posted an update for the 2510 and sent me an e-mail stating that fact. No 2511 yet so it is a crappy blu-ray player but it upscales regular dvd's very good.
