A nice, lower-priced upconverter

I purchased this unit today and have already watched a movie on it. It runs flawlessly and the unit looks sharp like a Sony. However unlike the Sony I was comparing this model to, the Memorex had 1080p HDMI upconversion for $20 less which made this...

Definitely Not Tandy any more.

This player has been used very little and it no longer will turn on without having to unplug it and plug it back in. I bought it thinking that it had a warranty but learned different. Nothing like the old Radio Shack products.

Memorex Progressive Scan DVD Player-Price was right.

This was purchased as a gift. I can't really give any pros with the exception of the price was right. I ordered it online and picked it up at the store. It was available for gift wrapping however I wanted to give my own personal touch.

Awesome

I really think this is a nice Dvd player for the money.  It has a HDMI port & it does 1080p upconvert so it looks just as good as Blu-ray without having to pay the price.  I recommend this dvd player!

Good player for the price

I bought this because it's the only DVD player with HDMI Up conversion and TV Guardian on the market. I have a Phillips Up conversion DVD player also. The Phillips is much better than this one. I expected as much because the price difference was...

Bad Product

The DVD holder kept opening up on its own, after one day, would not close unless a DVD was in. The remote had to be directly pointing at the player in order for it to work. Buttons on remote too small.

Broke within a month

I thought this would be a good deal since I bought it on sale for [$]. Discs started getting stuck in the player about a month after I bought it. The tray would open, but the disc was still inside. Good thing it was still under warranty.Remember, you...

Best DVD player for the money

I've never seen my 32" lcd look so good with HDMI upconversion. I have HDMI going into a DVI port on my older lcd tv and it's the best picture I've seen on it in 4 years. Contrary to a previous post the sound seemed consistent with other sources and...
