Onkyo didn't make this....What do you expect????

The guy who said electronic don't fail anymore must be living in a bubble. I've been a Service man for 25 years and today's electronics are the worst EVER!!!! DV-CR500 has a Sony display chip, Omega DVD control chip, Mitsumi, Pioneer, and Hynix chips...

My Onkyo- Oh, NO!

How does the DVD player know which disks are the hardest to replace? This system has eaten two disks so far, and I still have been unable to replace one:( This player has excellent sound quality, and excellent picture quality- even on a HDTV, EXCEPT, ...

Excellent Sound quality.

Eats disks, separates sound from picture on DVD's.

Junk

The first one failed, didn't read DVDs and would not eject. I sent it back in under warranty and the replacement did the same thing. What a junker. I've had all kinds of Onkyo equipment in the past and it was all top quality. Not this piece.

Product Specifications

With the budget friendly DV-CP500, you'll find the same high build quality and progressive scan capability found in the high-end models at a fraction of the price. For example, the DV-CP500's unique Direct Digital Path design avoids potential noise from nearby microprocessors and power supplies by outputting the signal directly from the laser pick-up module to the rear panel connectors. And its parallel video outputs make it easy to connect multiple TVs to give you video enjoyment in more than one room. The DV-CP500 can also play back your audio CDs - including high-resolution 96 kHz/24-bit audio discs - CD-R/RWs, Video CDs, and even MP3 CDs! And there is true random CD playback so you realize the all benefits of 5-disc convenience when playing back your favorite music.
