Panasonic DMR-EX769 DVD recorder - Pocket-lint

The EX769 excels in DVD playback and in pure simplicity for HDD and DVD recording, but does have some drawbacks

Plenty of options, great DVD playback

Menus a little basic in appearance, single tuner only, power save mode makes it a slow starter

The EX769 excels in DVD playback and in pure simplicity for HDD and DVD recording. Some aspects, perhaps, don't quite measure the options presented by rivals: a glorious high-definition menu structure, or a USB or SD card slot to playback or record...

Panasonic DMR-EX769 DVD/HDD Freeview PVR

A downscaled version of Panasonic's top-end PVRs, the DMR-EX769 delivers excellent performance at a decent price

If you don't have the patience to set manual chapter points, then the unit will do the hard work for you. Auto Scene Chapter detects gaps in the sound of a programme, usually at the start and end of a programme or the adverts, and sets markers...

Panasonic DMR-EX769 review

No-frills DVD/HDD recorder but it does a fine job of the basics

Smart styling, easy to use ; good tuner, faithful recordings ; decent 1080p DVD over HDMI

Tired interface ; low on frills ; relatively small HDD

We’re struggling to get excited about a no-frills DVD/HDD recorder but this does a fine job of the basics

Very good

It does everything I expected plus quite a bit more! Particularly liked the fact that it automatically stays recording if a programme runs late.

A quality bit of kit.

A one box solution to the digital switchover. So one remote and you have freeview, a dvd recorder/player and also a hard disc recorder. Panasonic quality evident throughout.
