Panasonic DMR-EX99V review

In Panasonic's latest AV wonder, digital recording coexists happily with a bygone analogue era called VHS

Excellent aV performance ; Sensibly-featured digital recorder

VHS-only VCR ; No pay-TV upgrade path ; No infrared control over STB

A good way of backing up old VHS to HDD or DVD. It also offers great AV performance

Panasonic DMR-EX99V review

After a DVD recorder, VHS recorder and Freeview PVR all rolled into one? Here's your answer – and it's a decent performs to boot

Multi-functional ; 250GB HDD ; reasonably easy to use ; solid, detailed images ; makes quality recordings

Styling looks drab and dated ; some picture noise ; struggles to keep a grip on moving images

It's a world away from cutting-edge but it does exactly what it says on the packaging – and to a good standard, too

Panasonic DMR-EX99V

Does everything it says, easy to use and good quality recordings.

Massive instruction manual tends to be offputting and could be clearer BUT there's nothing it doesnt tell you.

Ease of use: plug and play. I have other Panasonic recorders and haven't had to take the instructions out of the wrapping. Have tried out all the copy facilities, no problems

Panasonic DMR-EX99V

All in one product giving Free View, live pause and able to keep and play our old VHS tapes as well as recording on hard drive and DVD.

Manual is very comprehensive but also found it to be over complicated.
