Multiple breakdowns

We purchased our PV-D4761 in September 2001, as our young son has a large videotape collection, but my wife and I wanted to start watching DVDs. Since our entertainment unit is already pretty full, we figured a DVD/VCR combo was the way to go.

Good features

Panasonic PV-D4761 DVD/VCR Player

It is no surprise I live with a movie nut. For the last several weeks I have heard how the local Blockbuster has less and less new VHS movies to rent. How her benefits for being such a loyal and high volume renter, are of little use with no movies to...

Both DVD and VHS compatible

Oh so much to learn for the technically challenged

Panasonic

It seems like Panasonic has a problem with illuminated remotes. I bought their 36" 3D/YC television, and it to had a poor lighted keypad. It's not that big of a factor, but it's a shame they can't get this right when you drop 1400.00 on a TV. Now they...

Big Brand Name Mediocre VCR Playback

Basic set up to replace an existing vcr is simple and straight forward. Manual is extensive and could be inproved but info is all there. Unit seems very well made. Performance and controls are very good. The Panasonic CT-27D11 might be a good match to...

Couldn't be much worse

Couldn't be much worse

The first bad thing about this unit is the manual, which is so poorly written that Panasonic wisely added a tech support number at the end of it. Since I'm reasonably handy with electronics, I got it set up after about 30 minutes without tech support,...

I don't see the point!!

I don't see the point!!

I didn't get one of these players, a friend has this one and I recently got time to use it. The DVD playback is decent and so is the VHS. Although this DVD player alone wouldn't sell for much... and the VCR would'nt sell for much either.. The truth is...

Great Idea!! Perfect product

Great Idea!! Perfect product

Why did it take this long to get this product on the market? One of the reasons that people are hesitant to buy a DVD player is that they have years worth of VHS tapes that would take forever to replace. Now, they don't have to replace them. Just buy...
