Philips BDP3000/05

By Patrick Wignall (cnet.co.uk)

Occasionally, the BDP3000/05 Blu-ray player's budget nature reveals itself -- you need to supply a 1GB memory stick before you can access BD-Live content, for example -- but, for the most part, it's a great machine. Its picture and audio quality are ...

You need to supply a 1GB memory stick before you can access BD-Live content

The Philips BDP3000/05 lacks DTS-HD MA decoding and, annoyingly, requires that you supply a 1GB USB memory stick in order to access BD-Live content. But it's well-built, speedy to load discs and delivers good picture quality. All in all, it's a good ...

Philips BDP3000 Blu-ray player

By Jamie Carter (pocket-lint.com)

Blu-ray on a budget

BD-Live, DivX playback, excellent value pictures, good upscaling

No media USB port, external memory stick needed for BD-Live

This deck's excellent value pictures should give it a wide appeal, despite the slightly cumbersome BD-Live arrangement

Good stuff.

By digidavid1954 (asia.cnet.com)

I've already had 2 prevoius Blu players and I think this 1 excels over the others just may be because I don't have 2 wait forever for it to get down and the accompanying features are super. Nice looks too. Comparably.

Great Budget entry into Blu Ray !

By Ronnie Rosbotham (amazon.co.uk)

Great Budget entry into Blu Ray !

After using a PS3 for Blu Ray duties up to now, I wanted to get a "stand alone" player for use in another room in the house. I've looked at all the options, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung et al, but decided upon this as a cheap way to acquire a second player. O...

Great machine at a great price!

After being stung by buying a Samsung BD1500, which I took back several times and ended up getting a refund as it had dangerous overheating issues and didnt impress me with the picture at all, Ive bided my time before entering into Blu Ray again. Ive neve...
