Simple and easy to use, Effective recording capabilities

Expensive, No way to back up recordings, Limited features, Awkward interface

Philips DVP5100K/69

The Mitashi DIVX-999 supported pretty much everything except WMV and DTS, but does it hold up against the Philips DVP5100K?

Great looking, sleek finish, slot-loading, plays all formats except WMV

Ghosting effect (lens issue?), cant ff/rew in zoom mode, choppiness in certain 23.976 fps encoded video
