Not well suited for in-car use

 

Image and sound quality are good, as are the controls to adjust brightness and sound for this size and price-point

DVD playback almost impossible when player is mounted to the back of a car seat using the included hardware. Even small bumps in the road interrupt DVD playback. The only solution is to have passengers hold the portable player

We Christmas shopped early so by the time we discovered there was an issue it was more than 30 days and Newegg told us to pound sand. Fortunately, Phillips customer service was excellent and a new unit is on the way to me, with a prepaid shipping...

awesome picture ; good controls ; attaches to seat back very securely ; latch and dvd mechanism seem solid ; 9" screen is a lot nicer than our previous 7

second screen has funky colors and green outlines around characters ; connector cable could be longer, but one can be found at Radio Shack

As Expected / Suits Our Needs

 

Bought these for trips, does well. It came poorly packed in a generic box with little documentation. The set looks new enough, no scratches or damage, but I could detect that the screens and bezel had been cleaned.

Plays DVD-R (DVD backups) fine ; Provided strap works well enough to hook to our seats (V70, RX400h, MB R350)

Controls and wire jacks are in different places on each of the units, making it impossible to remember where what is for hooking up and changing volume. They should have placed these in the same place on both units ; The auto power wire feels cheaply made

DVDs skip on playback

 

Newegg customer service was great and provided a return shipping label and waived the restocking fee due to the defect. The defective DVD player gets 1 star, but Newegg gets 5 stars.

Good price for a 9" dual screen DVD player. Auto resume is nice so that kids in the back can resume movies where they left off

Player skipped and video broke up intermittently on playback. Tried several mint-condition DVDs that work fine on other players. Suspect that this is a defect that was caught due to insufficient testing during recertification

Hmm

 

Should have taken the advise of others. I spent 30 minutes concealing the wires behind my seat backs, plugged it in and the first unit worked fine however the second screen displayed nothing but lines. It's on it's way back to Newegg for a replacement...

Nice sized display, easy to hook up

Wire used to connect the two screens is too short to conceal, second screen didn't work
