I purchased this in 3/07, used it about 10-12 times (it still looks new,) but it just stopped working while playing a DVD. No power at all. The Pioneer service rep didn't want to have anything to do with it, because it is a multi-country PAL model.

this is NOT region free. it DOES NOT play PAL. Do not waste your money. Do not buy this.This is a OOOOO product.

Thanks for the hints, everyone! I had to perform the factory reset (see earlier reviews), but once done this unit plays Region 1 and 2 DVDs perfectly. This is a great unit for folks addicted to British DVDs - recommended!
