Budget DVD player for HDTVs

If you have an HDTV, but don't want to opt for a Blu-ray Disc player such as the Panasonic DMP-BD65K (*Est. $125), the Pioneer DV-420V-K deserves a good look. It can upscale DVDs all the way up to 1080p via its HDMI output, and user reviews generally...

Good picture quality, can upscale video to 1080p, can play files from or write music files to a USB device, can play discs from other parts of the world (with firmware update)

Region-free firmware update not officially supported, not much less expensive than a Blu-ray player

Exactly as expected

Works perfectly with DVD any region. Tried with disc bought back in Italy and here in USA. Good performances also with recorded DVD and Divx from USB devices. Found my needle in a haystack.

Nice player with some good upside

the USB input is very nice and easy to use. FAT32 formatted drives - only. A little slow loading but for the price, nice.

Flawless

We bought this after we got rid of our memorex. The memorex seemed to skip a lot more sometimes it would even freeze up. When we bought this one we played the same dvds that were skipping on the memorex and it didn't skip at all! This is a really good...
