Samsung's support site for this player describes a small number of these units (manufactured between April and June of 2008) having problems with 550 series Samsungs. This is fixed with a firmware upgrade

Incompatible with my Samsung DLP tv

Works great!

 

I hooked this player up to my 26-inch Samsung LCD television using an HDMI cable and have had no problems at all. Playback is crisp and without too many stutters (with some DVDs I've experienced this but it's not a showstopper).

Worked out of the box. Slim design.

No clock. Wish it were a Blu-ray 2.0 player.

Didn't work out of the box!

 

Called Samsung support and the guy told me he had dealt with this same problem just the day before with another customer! I was given two options...return it to the place of purchase or send it to California for repair. Unfortunately, I didn't buy from...

Samsung's "Anynet+" feature on my TV recognized the DVD as soon as I turned on the player so it didn't need additional setup.

I got this player, connected it to my Samsung LN46A550 (1080P) with an HDMI cable, went through the setup, and started playing a movie. Thirty seconds into the movie the signal started dropping out...TV giving the "Searching for signal..." screen....

NO CLOCK

 

I am returning this player. HDMI port does not work and there is no clock! Not only that, but it displays "--:--" when it is off! JUNK.
