Samsung DVD/VCR Combo DVD-VR375A Review

If you want to watch your old VHS tapes and DVDs on your newer HDTV, the Samsung DVD/VCR Combo DVD-VR375A is a good choice. It plays tapes and DVDs as well as any other product currently available. Unfortunately, it lacks the ability to transfer your...

DVD/VCR combo plays VHS, DVDs and recordable media such as DVDRs and CDRs.

The Samsung DVD/VCR Combo lacks two-way dubbing, which is imperative for moving VHS footage to a DVD.

This product doesn’t try to pretend that it's something it's not. It plays VHS tapes and DVD, and that's it.

Poor Quality, awful support

The VCR part of this unit seems to have a known defect where the screen goes blank during playback (find other reviews where you can see this issue reported by MANY people - one person returned it for warranty repair 3x's and it was STILL not working)....

Poor quality, even worse customer support, known issue with unit that Company does not acknowledge

The only problem with this is the fact that it does not have a tuner built in to it.

A great recorder!

I have wanted a DVD recorder for along time. I saw this one and had to get it. It has been great. I have recorded tv shows, movies, and old home movies from VHS to DVD. I could go on and on, but get for yourself and see.

Sound sync issues while dubbing

Samsung's reputation is definitely damaged by this lemon. Thanks, of course, to NewEgg for permitting a refund (what's the point of getting another brand new defective unit?).

Sharp picture

Audio sync problem noted in other reviews is a fatal issue when dubbing from VCR to DVD, the primary purpose for purchasing a unit such as this. Dealing with Samsung tech support was unproductive and time-wasting and they certainly did not acknowledge...
