Samsung Vr330

The Samsung DVD-vr330 is a decent DVD/VHS player and recorder. The recording quality is below that of other players, and the price is higher than many others. Experts and users had generally ambivalent experiences when summed up: Seemingly half loved...

Great Combo recorder

Does what it claims to, reasonable price. This player also plays DVD copies burned on my computer that my Dennon won't play. I haven't used it to copy at 6hr setting. Hope to use that feature for the Tour d'France this summer rather than VCR tapes....

Dual Layer DVD copies, no coasters. Bought to copy shows from Directv HD10-250 on bedroom setup. Setup takes some thinking but works as advertised. I would recommend a Harmony 880 or equivalent to easily switch between functions. My wife is impressed...

Clunky remote, plan on replacing

Big disappointment...

I was really excited about the unit when I received it. It played well, looked nice. But the selling point was that it said that it would record and playback Dual Layer DVD's. +DL and -DL did not play on this unit, nor did -R or +R single layer discs....

It plays DVD's in progressive scan VERY WELL. Images were crisp, clean and leave you in awe

For a multifunction unit, it DOES NOT play any recordable DVD whatsoever

Does not read DVDs at all, not even it's own.

Would consider purchase again

Just wanted to update after months of use. This recorder starts up, reading discs, quicker than my Panasonic. I believe I have discovered that the reason I sometimes cannot view discs from this recorder on my Panasonic is actually due to the Panasonic....

Easy time setting and easy copy from VHS to DVD.

Noisy! Poor manual and no easy company contact.

Good paper weight. Will go through dealer's window.

Not enough space to write all the cons.

Simple: stay away from Samsung video products, this is no better than their early model VCRs (remember their VB-300? that would blow up within the first 3 months of operation, power surge or not - it boils down to poor design and Samsung couldn't care...

Makes an ideal paperweight or doorstop or even a prop to stop your car rolling backwards into the street out of your driveway. It may even serve as a footstool to rest your tired feet after a hard day's work.

Absolutely useless as a DVD/VCR combo - if any of the functions within it work at all, it is only for a very short period of time - say, less than 6 months - add up the trips to the service centre to have it repaired under warranty, by the time that...
