No longer plays old or new discs

This player worked great for about 2 years and then didn't want to load disc it had played fine in the past. Then it stopped playing all discs. I upgraded the firmware successfully and it didn't help. Now it won't play anything.

Piece of junk

Piece of junk

Plays games on its own with you having no control over the situation. Loading a disk is an adventure on it's own. Most don't play out of the box. The controls are so slow that if you press open tray 10 times in a row it will freeze. Sometimes it shuts...

Picture Good, but slow and relatively short-lived

I purchased two of these Blu-Ray players two years ago, and while the picture quality was excellent for blu-ray discs and the upscaling feature a notable improvement over others I had prior to these players, but I found them to be very slow loading. ...

Only good if you can recycle it

I'm approaching fifty, so I am no novice. I have owned lots of Sony products in my life, but this player is the nadir of my experiences with ALL brands of electronics. Its controls are not even responsive to normal commands: even powering up the unit...

Wished I had returned it.

Bought mine in May and have had nothing but problems. The majority of discs won't play the first time. Very slow loading too. Have had to return many discs back to NetFlix, even after updating the firmware. I recommend you buy something else.

I purchased this in February 2008. Once you are playing a Blu-Ray Disc, of course the picture is fantastic on your hi-def Monitor, but this has been a very temperamental piece of gear. Very, very slow load times. Sometimes if you leave a disc in and...

Solid player that has been misrepresented by earlier reviews

I got this player about a year ago as a Christmas present. It has always worked quite well. Some of the criticisms of the player are largely the result of the apparent ignorance of the reviewers. The player does not advertise True HD audio, so you can...
