Excellent Buy

I bought the DVP-C670D as a replacement for my Panasonic A-120 w/Technics decoder and my Sony CD Changer. I wanted to replace these three units with one unit that did everything.

DTS/Dolby Digital decoding is crisp. Tons of outputs

Doesn't play CD-R media. Pain to program without screen.

A good deal and a good product.

I have to say I'm impressed with the the level of functionality and quality. It's a nice light unit with a slim profile that won't take up much space. It has all the basic functions and them some. The menu system is easy to use, but you should be...

Good bang for the buck (with the new lower price).

No gold connectors for 5.1.

Top of the line Sony doesn't disappoint

In Australia, this product was clearly one of the finest examples of DVD equipment that we could find under US$500. The sound and picture quality offered by this product are unrivaled at this price range, as well as the other features that come with...

Quality Problem, a Disappointment

The sound and picture quality that this player gives are excellent. The on-screen menu features are easy to use and very informative. I have this hooked up to a Sony STR-DE545 receiver and Sony VAE315 and SONY SS-MB215 speakers.

Sony's So Smooth

I had a tough time deciding whether or not to wait to buy a DVD player. I thought when they became recordable was the time to buy. But, after viewing a few DVD movies from my home PC, I realized the difference in picture quality and sound instantly....

Mesmerizing sight and sound package.

Minor noise emits from player from disc spinning.

Perfect for those too lazy to change ONE DVD movie

When I first started looking into a DVD-Player, I originally was going with a single disc player. But fate would have it, they were sold out at my job at the time and so I decided to go with the last Sony DVD-Player they had in stock. Which happened to...

Able to put more than one DVD or CD in the system

Remote, buttons not glow in the dark

Product Specifications

Sony, which created the multi-disc DVD/CD category with the industry's first five-disc changer, is now introducing the DVP-C670D, an advanced five-disc changer. The new DVP-C670D model offers Sony's exclusive Disc Explorer feature as well as a new Custom Parental Control system. Unlike conventional systems, which require a DVD disc to be encoded with a Motion Picture Association of America rating, DVD-Video titles can now be accessed and individually locked. This feature can be used for controlling up to 200 discs. Preferences stored in the unit's memory are maintained even when the power is turned off. The DVP-C670D features Picture navigation with Bookmark, Picture Memory and Strobe Playback functions. The unit also includes some of Sony's exclusive technologies, including the Precision Drive System, which provides faster, more accurate tracking and playback, and Advanced SmoothScan Picture Search for seamless transitions between video frames. The DVP-C670D also adds Digital Image Enhancer technology, which utilizes innovative digital processing to make the highly defined edges on DVD-Video images even sharper. It also includes built-in Dolby Digital decoding and advanced circuitry to match the audio to dimensions of the room.
