Sony DVP-FX720

By Campbell Simpson (news.com.au)

THIS is a competitively priced DVD player which is easy to use, although its speaker quality is disappointing.

Good price, multiple audio-out options, USB input

Inbuilt speakers sound dull

A competent, well-priced mid-range player with a simple interface and good screen, hampered by poor speakers.

Although it lacks the higher-resolution screen of Sony's premium model, the...

By Pam Carroll (cnet.com.au)

sony dvp-fx720w review: The FX720 has its limitations, but for the price, it does what it is designed to do well enough.

Handles DivX, MP3 and JPEG file formats as well as DVDs, Play files from USB port or disc drive, Accurate colours

Sony DVP-FX720W

By Matt (cnet.com.au)

A good quality product that supports a wide amount of different formats including DivX

Good quality, good picture + the video in-out which make it very versitile. Works great to watch photos directly from my DSLR Nikon D80

Region locked, can't find any info on how to unlock it, how stupid is it to make a "travel DVD player" that you can't unlock? And the poor speaker sound.

Very poor sound quality from speakers, in fact it is so bad that they cant be used. I initially thought it was a fault with my unit but when I tried the rest in the shop they were all just as bad ; There is no ability to manage the sound quality by way of...
