Sony DVP-FX810 portable DVD player Review and Prices

With the DVP-FX810, Sony has produced one of the better-quality budget portable DVD players. The overall construction of the DVP-FX810 feels more solid than many other low-price models, and we're not just talking about products from no-name brands. The...

Long battery life, solid construction, neat swivel-screen design

Affected by screen glare in bright rooms or outside in sunlight, a little heavy

Decent player, but it has problems

All in all, it is a great player. We use it more than it is probably meant to be used. However, I had hoped that it would be trouble free for a couple of years. We just purchased the next model up hoping that these flaws have been fixed.

Glass covered screen - great for kids that like to man-handle everything in front of them. Long battery life - great for long trips with kids that have short attention spans. Large remote - great for old people with bad eye

Sound is weak. Depends on the movie being played. Childrens dvds tend to be loud enough, but adult movies are a little hard to hear. My unit lasted about three months before it started freezing. Now it freezes periodically. Sometimes, as a result of...

It is worth the price!!!

My wife and I will be going on a trip later this month and needed something for her to do on the airplane. I have owned a few portable players that just never work as well as they promised. I have always trusted Sony's products and have been good buys...

Superb item for the money

This, for me, is a good product because it is a very high quality portable TV DVD player. The included remote is of good quality, and the infrared port on the front of the player is perfectly located. Portable playback is great, TV playback is excellent.

Great battery life. Quality build, nothing seems flimsy save for the flip-up plastic cover for the actual dvd drive. I was most impressed with the quality of the dvd playback when you connect it to an actual TV with the provided cables. Without...

The screen is a tad grainy, but unless you are an HD-phile, this shouldn't discourage you. Also, as I stated before, the drive cover seems to be a bit flimsy, but I had no problems with it and it seems to be strong enough. When you connect to a TV, the...

Awsome

This is a great player for anyone who has kids. The protected screen was a real bonus for us!

Clear crisp pictures, long play time, ease of use. The best thing about this player over all of the other players is the fact it has a protective screen over the main screen. We have a 3 year old that loved to touch the screen on the Polaroid player...

The sound isn't as loud as on some of the others, but I feel that it is loud enough
