Sony DVP-NS715P

Nice-looking design; solid progressive-scan video performance; excellent disc compatibility; two sets of A/V and S-Video outputs; optical and coaxial digital-audio outputs.

No aspect-ratio or zoom controls; somewhat cramped remote; edge-enhanced interlaced output.

A capable performer encased in WEGA-matching silver, this Sony's short feature set is its only Achilles' heel.

DVP-NS715P

After a long wait the NS715P is here.

Excellent Video and Audio Quality ; Excellent Menu browsing ; MP3 Browser on TV's screen with full name of song (scroll) on the front display as well ; Very Fast loading / access time ; 2 SVideo, 2 Video + 2 Audio, 1 Coax, 1 Optical ; All languages...

No Major weaknesses at the present time ; No backlit remote (if someone cares for that) ; Only available in Silver with Black Remote ; I couldn't find the Zoom yet (although it may exist - not sure)

"Marginal Unit"

Well, I bought this unit based on the sony name and for the outputs. I am not sure I will buy a Sony again. Ever since day one the unit was very picky about the disc it played. If the disc wasn't just about factory perfect it wouldn't play. Of course...

Great Looking, good selection of output

Picky about discs

"it DOES have aspect ratio control"

I thought it didn't have any aspect ratio control, either, until I got frustrated because I just got an Olevia 32" LCD TV, and I thought the 16:9 view on my TV looked liked a horizontally stretched image of the 4:3 view. After some investigation, it...

everything!

sometimes it lags when switching between layers (quick pause, sometimes up to 2 seconds)

"Excellent DVD Player!!"

Plays all DVD and VCD,SVCD formats, no complaints at all after 2 years of ownership, I'm still just now using some of the advanced features such as progressive scan, and recordable DVD formats.

Does not have a pause zoom feature, but I researched and knew that going in.

"NO COMPLAINTS HERE ! ! !"

-I purchased mine as a "demo" model and only paid $65.00 Canadain :) -Picture quality is brilliant and it plays every format out there. -Plays DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, VCD, SVCD, MP3, CD-R, and more. -When stop is pressed once then you press play, it picks up

-I purchased mine as a "demo" model and only paid $65.00 Canadain and got the Sony DVD RMT-D141A remote with NO number buttons so if makes it a hard to jump ahead to a specific point in the movie.. -Would LOVE to get the proper remote or a nice universal
