Fantastic...but a tad disappointing.

Fantastic...but a tad disappointing.

I thought about giving it 5 stars but the fact remains that i am a tad disappointed. Perhaps i am being unfair since there is no doubt that having read the reviews my expectations were very high...too high? It does do most of the things that the 5 star...

I bought this "new" from Amazon for £76 - what gives with the crazy price?

Apart from the price issue I would have to say this is a fantastic player. I compared it with 3 others where one was £350 JVC player and it knocked it's socks off - there was a huge difference in quality. I tried some old burned dvd's that the other...

£250 Are you taking the pi$$?

£250 Are you taking the pi$$?

I've recently bought this player from Tesco Extra in Irlam for £49 as it has been replaced by the DVP-NS78H which is available for around £79. How someone can charge nearly £250 for this discontinued product is beyond me.

Excellent picture for the money. Good connectivity

Having recently upgraded to a 32" LCD TV, I bought this to replace my aging Toshiba SD520E which didn't even support progressive scan. I needed a physically small unit with optical digital out to fit into my existing system and the Sony looked like the...

Excellent picture ; natural and sharp with vivid colours ; Compact slimline build ; Good connectivity including SCART, HDMI, S-Video, Component and Composite video. Analogue stereo, optical and coax digital audio out

Slightly clunky transport betrays budget price ; There are better value competitors if you don't need the connectivity

Sony NS76H HDMI 1080i review

Ok, so I'd been debating on buying this player for some time now, since I'm not quite ready to jump to blu ray just yet maybe in a year or two when I don't feel like I'm being taken for a mug for £500+ for a half decent player. So, having stuck...

Excellent DVD player

Excellent DVD player

I had purchased the Samsung 1080p7 DVD player but was never totally satisfied with it, there were problems with them player itself (slight pauses between some chapters, loss of sound and picture for a second or two, missing the 1st second of sound off...

Awesome.

I have watched both Star Trek Nemesis and Elektra and was blown away by the beautiful image quality and the sound. Both Nemesis and Elektra looked like they were in HD even though it was being played of a regular DVD. I have my DVD player and TV...

I wanted to make my dvd collection better to watch, but wasnt sure if I should go for Blue Ray or HD. I noticed you could upscale your dvds through this dvd player. It doesnt upscale all dvds, but the ones it does do are amazing, I-Robot, Star Wars,...

High Def Playback Without Selling Your Soul

High Def Playback Without Selling Your Soul

Needed something cheaper than a Blu-Ray player (something that wasn't going to cost me my soul) to get high definition playback for my LCD TV. Didn't have to look much further than this beauty. From the moment I booted up a DVD my jaw hit the floor and...
