Great picture and plays everything; including scratched rentals.

$130 seemed like a lot for a DVD player, but my other two (an old Sony w/ p-Scan and a $40 Cyberhome P-scan doorstop) seemed to seize up occasionaly, leaving me with my Xbox as a backup. This one plays everything, even badly scratched Netflix discs....

Noticable imrovement in picture quality over a 1st generation progressive scan DVD player

130 is spendy for a 1-disc player these days

Turned Out To Be Very Unreliable

I thought I would love this player and it's SACD capability was an added bonus. I bought this to replace a previous Sony DVD player. In less than One year this product totally quit working and I was out $129.00, Period! I was surprised that it died so...

An impressive dvd player...great features!!!

Clear picture and impressive sound. Great selection of picture settings (standard, cinema, dynamic & owner's setting) and surround sound (normal, enhanced, virtual rear). An impressive array of settings for all videophiles and audiophiles. Plays all...

Good picture quality and excellent 5.1 surround sound

It takes a while to read discs

This plays everything

I love this DVD Player!!! There isn't anything I have that it won't play. Even DVD+Rs. It works great with my other sony components. The picture and sound are wonderful, I have not had a problem with optical output being behind

It does take about 10-25 seconds to open when turned on, and can only hold one DVD or CD at a time.....But these are minor for me

A great deal that comes up a little short

Plays all DVD formats. Great picture and lots of features. Has autosave for up to 40 Dvds

My biggest problem is that it takes too long to read DVDs before a movie starts up (about 25 seconds). Optical audio is delayed about 2 seconds before signal is sent to receiver. Also Sony has a limited 90 day warranty

Truly plays any disc you put in it!!

Plays virtually all types of recordable DVD +/-r media. Able to play +r discs recorded with DVD x copy xpress. Pioneer elite series only plays approximately 80%. Picture color appears more natural on sony compared to pioneer. Best DVD at any price. T

No DVI output
