Built tough

The ES line is where Sony truly shine. Out of the box, this player means business. CRT tube viewers will love it's crisp/clear performance

Unfortunately, even with Monster top of the line Z series component cables, my Sony KF-50XBR800 LCD projection TV wasn't able to shine as well as my HD cable channels. But remember this, the max output on current component DVD players is 480p while HDTV m

Reference DVD

Not since the DVP7000 has build quality and performance been achieved so completely. Sony has now come with a machine that can compete with the high end CD only players including the multi channel SACD/DVD audio players. You can spend more, but why.
