Some channels have copyright signal and this DVD recorder will not record those channels.

Very simple to use and enough extras for a tech-junky. Works easy just like a VCR and has many of the same functions. Burned DVD off live TV. Havent tried VCR->DVD or DVD-VCR yet. Different modes to record off TV for DVD. XP mode for best quality or...

Despite the above product description, this is the model and picture of the Toshiba D-VR4X VCR/DVD Recorder Combo, not just the DVD recorder. This is a quality unit in my opinion. I did not experience any of the errors that other reviewers described ...

Like ChrisJoker, I too have experienced fatal errors - twice now - with this unit during the simple transfer of basic (and uncopyproteced) video from VHS to DVD. The first error occurred during the "finalization" phase of the DVD-R, when I was met with...
