iRiver Cover Story review

iRiver seems to be taking the ebook reader category seriously. We recently looked at their Story with Wi-Fi and now they have launched the Cover Story, their take on the touchscreen approach to ebook reading. There are two versions of the Cover Story:...

Compact, well built, SD card slot

Lacks contrast, screen prone to reflection, user interface uses some very small text, accompanying software is poor, lacks basic instructions regarding DRM use

The display does suffer from reflections more than a typical non-touch device and it seems to lack contrast and use too many small fonts. No major failings, but not the best choice either

Step forward, then, the touch-sensitive Cover Story, its successor, which arrives at a time when e-readers are getting ever more competitive and classy.

It’s a cool and clever e-reader, but if you’re looking to convert to digital books, it's a bit pricey and lacking in killer extras for our liking.
